Merab Dvalishvili will look to retain the UFC Bantamweight belt in his second showdown against Sean O'Malley.
Ultimately, O'Malley earned the title after a knockout against Aljamain Sterling back in 2023. He also held the title in a unanimous decision win against Marlon Vera.
However, at UFC 306, he lost to Dvalishvili and gave up the title. On Saturday, he's got his rematch and his chance to reclaim that belt.
In the first fight at UFC 306, Dvalishvili earned a bunch of takedowns and had a lot of control over O'Malley. It seemed like O'Malley just wasn't prepared for the fight. Later, he suggested he learned from the loss and believes he can earn a better result this time around.
He says he'll be more prepared for takedowns and should be able to defend them better.

After Dvalishvili defeated O'Malley, he secured a win over Umar Nurmagomedov in his first title defense. He's been the champion for a little under a year now and will look to defend his belt for the second time in the UFC.
He's currently on a 12-fight win streak. Ultimately, Dvalishvili hasn't sustained a loss since 2018 against Rickey Simon. During his 12-fight win streak, he's knocked off some big names, including Jose Aldo, Petr Yan, Henry Cejudo, O'Malley, and Nurmagomedov.
A win on Saturday would easily make him the undisputed champ of the division.
Dvalishvili averages 6.45 takedowns per 15 minutes of fight time. But remember, this will be a five-round fight, so the expectation is that Dvalishvili earns a bunch of takedowns against O'Malley again in this second fight.
While O'Malley suggests he's learned from his mistakes, it's hard to imagine he'll improve that much more. He looked completely lost in his first fight against Dvalishvili. If he can't keep the fight standing, it will be super difficult for him to win.
