Mando Nallo vs. Jai Herbert Prediction
This is a really interesting stylistic fight because both guys prefer to strike, but the way they go about it is completely different. Herbert is the more traditional striker. He’s clean, technical, and does a good job using his length with jabs, leg kicks, and combinations. When he’s in rhythm, he can rack up volume and score consistently. But that’s also where the problem lies. Herbert needs rhythm. And Nallo is the exact type of fighter who disrupts that.
Nallo is a true “knockout artist” in every sense. He’s unorthodox, creative, and extremely dangerous from range. He works behind a sharp jab, but what really stands out is his kicking game and ability to counter. Whether it’s front kicks up the middle, calf kicks, or high kicks, Nallo attacks from everywhere. And when opponents try to close the distance or get aggressive, he has the timing and vision to land fight-changing counters instantly. That’s a big concern for Herbert. Historically, Herbert has struggled with fighters who can match his length and punish him with leg kicks and counters. Nallo checks all of those boxes. And durability is another factor. Herbert has shown he can be hurt and finished, while Nallo has real power and precision. In a striking matchup where both guys will have opportunities, I trust Nallo far more to land the damaging shots.
There’s also an underrated angle here with mileage. Yes, Nallo is making his UFC debut at 36, but he doesn’t have the same wear and tear as most fighters his age. Meanwhile, Herbert is 38 and has been through multiple wars inside the octagon. That matters in a fight where reactions, timing, and durability are everything. If this stays standing, which it likely will for long stretches, Nallo has the tools to control the exchanges and create the more dangerous moments. And if Herbert tries to mix in grappling, Nallo has shown improvements there as well, especially with submissions and defensive awareness.
At the end of the day, this comes down to who creates the bigger moments. Herbert might have cleaner volume, but Nallo has the explosiveness, creativity, and finishing upside that swings fights. That’s exactly what I want to back.
