Amanda Lemos vs. Alexia Thainara Prediction: Does Lemos Stand a Chance Against Red-Hot Thainara

Amanda Lemos meets Alexia Thainara in a ranked strawweight matchup at UFC Fight Night: Gamrot vs. Salkilld on Saturday, with the fight expected around 8:45 PM ET on Paramount+. Thainara is a -290 favorite and Lemos is +235, while Thainara -3.5 is -105. Over 2.5 rounds is heavily favored at -220, with the under at +170.

Thainara has quickly transitioned from prospect to legitimate contender, but Lemos represents the most experienced opponent of her UFC run. The veteran’s knockout power creates enough danger to discourage reckless entries, making a controlled three-round performance more likely than another quick finish from the favorite.

Amanda Lemos vs. Alexia Thainara Prediction

Thainara enters at 14-1 and has won every fight since suffering her lone professional loss in 2019. She is 3-0 in the UFC, beginning with a first-round submission of Molly McCann before earning unanimous decisions over Loma Lookboonmee and Bruna Brasil. Her victory over Brasil was particularly convincing, with Thainara winning all three rounds and landing six takedowns while showing she can control a fight without chasing a finish.

Lemos remains dangerous at 15-6-1 because her power is unusual for the strawweight division. She previously challenged Zhang Weili for the title and has shared the cage with several championship-level opponents, giving her a major edge in experience. However, the 39-year-old has become increasingly inconsistent and most recently dropped a unanimous decision to Gillian Robertson after struggling to prevent sustained grappling control.

Thainara’s wrestling should again become the central factor. She can pressure Lemos toward the fence, chain takedown attempts together and force the veteran to spend extended stretches defending rather than setting her feet for power shots. Lemos has enough strength and submission awareness to make those exchanges competitive, but consistently winning minutes becomes difficult once Thainara establishes top position.

The matchup also rewards patience from the favorite. Lemos remains most dangerous early when her explosiveness is at its highest, so Thainara has little reason to force a finish while the veteran is fresh. A measured approach built around clinch work, takedowns and positional control allows her to reduce Lemos’ knockout opportunities while steadily accumulating rounds.

Paying -290 on the standard moneyline offers limited value in the toughest matchup of Thainara’s UFC career. The decision prop at -110 fits her two most recent victories and the likely tactical approach against a durable former title challenger. Thainara should control more minutes without exposing herself unnecessarily to Lemos’ power.

Amanda Lemos vs. Alexia Thainara Pick

The -440 moneyline is unusable compared with the available finishing prop. Miller by KO at +110 more directly attacks the area where he holds the clearest advantage and produces a significantly stronger return. Goff’s aggression should eventually create the opening, and Miller has the size, speed and combination punching to capitalize.
