Del Valle is 10-1 overall and 2-1 inside the UFC. He opened his run with victories over Connor Matthews and Isaac Dulgarian before Jordan Leavitt handed him his first professional loss by unanimous decision in February. That defeat ended a 10-fight winning streak, but it also provides motivation for a 30-year-old prospect who now gets a favorable stylistic matchup to reestablish his momentum.
Elkins enters at 29-12 after one of the longest and most memorable careers in the division. The 42-year-old built his reputation on durability, relentless wrestling and an almost unmatched ability to survive damage before turning fights around late. He has not competed since April 2025, however, when Julian Erosa stopped him in the first round and snapped a two-fight winning streak.
Age and accumulated damage matter more in this matchup than Elkins’ career reputation.
