Salkilld enters at 12-1 on a 12-fight winning streak and has been perfect through five UFC appearances. Four of those victories have ended in the opening round, including a head-kick knockout of Nasrat Haqparast, a neck-crank submission of Jamie Mullarkey and a first-round TKO of former title challenger Beneil Dariush in May. Gamrot is 26-4 with one no contest and brings a completely different résumé. The former KSW champion rebounded from his submission loss to Charles Oliveira by submitting Esteban Ribovics with an arm-triangle in April. He had previously defeated Ludovit Klein and owns career wins over Arman Tsarukyan, Rafael dos Anjos, Rafael Fiziev and Jalin Turner, giving him a level of elite experience Salkilld has not yet encountered.
Gamrot’s wrestling is the central obstacle. He can repeatedly chain takedowns together, scramble through reversals and force opponents to defend without receiving long periods of rest. Salkilld has looked outstanding when controlling the pace himself, but he has not yet been required to navigate 20 or 25 minutes against someone capable of making every exchange physically exhausting.
Salkilld still brings important advantages. He is younger, larger, more explosive and considerably more dangerous as a finisher, while Gamrot has occasionally struggled when opponents force him to strike at range rather than accepting wrestling exchanges. If Salkilld can punish the early entries and maintain enough takedown defense to keep significant portions standing, his speed and offensive variety can gradually shift the fight in his direction.
