He rebounded from a narrow 2025 split-decision loss to Nasrat Haqparast by beating Elves Brener and carried significant momentum into the Gamrot matchup, while his 7.24 significant strikes landed per minute ranks among the highest rates in UFC history among qualified fighters.
Barboza remains one of the most dangerous strikers the division has produced, but the 24-14 veteran has lost three straight and has not won since October 2023. His most recent appearance ended particularly badly, with Jalin Turner stopping him by TKO just 2:24 into the first round last December.
That creates a difficult matchup against a younger fighter who willingly pushes an extreme pace. Barboza still has enough kicking power to make early exchanges dangerous, but Ribovics should be able to pressure him immediately rather than giving the veteran the space needed to settle into a technical kickboxing match.
