A new women's flyweight champion will be crowned at UFC 332 after Valentina Shevchenko was forced to vacate the belt because of an injury expected to keep her sidelined for an extended period.
Silva enters as the established top contender after working through three consecutive former champions, while Wang has accelerated into a title opportunity with four straight UFC victories. Their striking-heavy styles could create an extremely technical five-round main event.
Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong Recent Results
Natalia Silva (20-5-1)
Silva has not lost since 2017 and carries a 14-fight winning streak into her first UFC championship opportunity. She is 8-0 inside the Octagon and has defeated Jessica Andrade, Alexa Grasso and Rose Namajunas in her last three appearances.
All three of those victories came by decision, including a unanimous decision over Namajunas at UFC 324 in January. Silva lands 4.81 significant strikes per minute while absorbing only 2.36, with a 66% significant strike defense and 90% takedown defense.
Wang Cong (10-1)
Wang has responded to the only loss of her professional career with four consecutive UFC victories. She most recently outworked Tracy Cortez over three rounds in July, earning another unanimous decision.
Six of Wang's 10 professional victories have come by decision, while she has two knockouts and two submissions. Her combination of striking accuracy, clinch work and 86% takedown defense gives her several avenues to remain competitive against Silva over a long fight.

Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong Prediction
Silva's recent résumé makes it difficult to move away from her in this matchup. Andrade, Grasso and Namajunas all brought championship-level experience, yet Silva was able to navigate three very different styles without losing her composure.
Her movement could be the defining factor Saturday. Silva rarely stays directly in front of opponents for long, uses kicks to control range and has been excellent at limiting clean return fire. Absorbing only 2.36 significant strikes per minute is especially valuable against an accurate striker such as Wang.
Wang should still have moments. She is comfortable exchanging on the feet, can make Silva work in the clinch and has enough takedown defense to prevent the Brazilian from easily changing the complexion of the fight.
The method market is where Silva becomes particularly appealing. She owns plenty of finishing ability historically, but her last three bouts against higher-level competition have each reached the scorecards. Wang has also gone to a decision in six of her 10 professional victories and has shown enough composure defensively to avoid creating unnecessary openings.
Five rounds introduce more finishing opportunities, particularly at Salt Lake City's altitude, but they also provide Silva additional time to separate herself through cleaner work. A controlled striking performance in which Silva consistently wins rounds without overextending fits both fighters' recent profiles.
Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong Best Bet
- Pick: Natalia Silva to Win by Decision (-105) Check out these best odds at FanDuel Sportsbook
Silva has repeatedly proven capable of beating elite opponents without needing a finish. At nearly even money, the decision prop offers a far better price than her -205 moneyline while matching the way her three biggest recent victories have unfolded.
