Camilo has quickly recovered from a disappointing UFC debut and enters Saturday after the best performance of his young Octagon career. His first-round stoppage of Nazim Sadykhov showed that the Brazilian can pair his grappling base with genuine finishing power.
Herbert remains an experienced and dangerous test. The former Cage Warriors champion has spent his UFC career facing difficult opposition and reminded everyone of his power by scoring his own first-round knockout earlier this year.
Matheus Camilo vs. Jai Herbert Recent Results
Matheus Camilo (11-3)
Camilo stopped Sadykhov in only 91 seconds in June after earning a unanimous decision against Viacheslav Borshchev late last year. Those victories have erased much of the concern created by his submission loss to Gabe Green in his UFC debut.
Camilo owns five knockouts and two submissions in 11 victories, but the larger advantage may be his versatility. He can pressure Herbert on the feet while also forcing the veteran to defend wrestling and grappling sequences.
Jai Herbert (14-6-1)
Herbert returned to the win column by stopping Mandel Nallo in the opening round in April. Ten of his 14 professional victories have come by knockout, making his power impossible to dismiss even as an underdog.
Durability has been the concern throughout Herbert’s UFC tenure. He has been stopped multiple times in the promotion, including memorable knockout defeats against elite opposition, and now faces a younger opponent capable of maintaining pressure in several phases.

Matheus Camilo vs. Jai Herbert Prediction
Herbert’s power keeps this matchup dangerous because Camilo cannot afford a careless entry. The English veteran has 10 knockouts and still carries enough length and timing to punish opponents who allow him to settle into kickboxing exchanges.
Camilo offers more ways to disrupt that rhythm. He is 13 years younger, can attack Herbert with pressure and has enough wrestling to make the veteran worry about more than simply defending combinations.
The first-round finish of Sadykhov was particularly encouraging because Camilo did not need extended grappling control to dominate. He showed that his hands can change a fight quickly, which becomes important against an opponent whose durability has been tested repeatedly.
Herbert can absolutely produce the upset if Camilo treats this as an easy step forward, but the younger fighter’s combination of athleticism, power and grappling gives him more reliable paths across three rounds.
Matheus Camilo vs. Jai Herbert Best Bet
- Pick: Matheus Camilo Moneyline (-192) Check out these best odds at FanDuel Sportsbook
Camilo has responded to his UFC debut loss with consecutive wins and now catches Herbert at a significant age disadvantage. The veteran remains dangerous enough to avoid chasing a more aggressive finishing prop, but Camilo should be able to dictate where the fight takes place and secure another victory.
