Miami (OH) vs. Miami Prediction: Can Brett Gabbert, RedHawks Keep This Game Competitive?

Well, normally, I would not be too excited about a clash between a power five and a group of five schools, but there is enough of a storyline here for me to sink my teeth into this one, and I think this game might be more exciting than some may assume at first glance. The University of Miami-Ohio RedHawks are down in South Florida for a clash with the Miami Hurricanes, and I expect the squad from the north to keep things competitive.

Miami (OH) vs. Miami Prediction

Miami-Ohio senior starting quarterback Brett Gabbert, younger brother of NFL quarterback Blaine Gabbert, has been slinging for years now. Gabbert was the highest-ranked quarterback of his high school class in the state of Missouri and has continued to prove he is more than Blaine's younger brother ever since. The gunslinger ranks fourth all-time in touchdown passes for the program and was confidently quoted in the weeks leading up to this game saying they were ready to show them who the real Miami is.

I do not know about all of that, but I do think they can keep this one within the points. Miami should be much better than last season but they are a young squad who might already be looking ahead to next week's clash with Texas A&M. Think a Redhawks squad returning the bulk of their starters, a really strong defense for a power five school, and a quarterback who is experienced and motivated can keep this interesting. Gabbert has some vengeance boiling in his blood after that injury last season, and I like a strong game from him.
