This team is under a full rebuild, losing their starting quarterback and the majority of their receivers to the transfer portal. Tonight, they open up the season against one of the most underrated programs in all of college football.

UCF had a great defense last season and returns a bunch of their starters. Kent State is going to have a tough time moving the ball against this stout Knights defense. Collin Schlee, Kent State’s starting QB last year, transferred to UCLA in the offseason. This is a brutal matchup for Michael Alaimo in the first game of the season: he only recorded 18 pass attempts at Purdue before transferring.
The weather conditions won’t be ideal for this game tonight. Although the hurricane has passed, rain and wind are still in the forecast, making Kent State’s job even harder tonight. Not only do I want to fade their offense, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t score in this game.
UCF is still out to prove that they are a legitimate college football contender. They won’t take their foot off the gas in this game, whether they’re up by forty points or not. Kent State is in the middle of a complete rebuild, and for a team that historically struggles on the road, this isn’t a recipe for success.
