Army vs. UTSA Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds
UTSA has been one of the best group of 5 programs over the past few seasons due in large part to the exceptional quarterback play of now sixth-year senior Frank Harris. Can he lead the Roadrunners to a big home win tonight? Let's break it down.

5 minArmy vs. UTSA Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds
UTSA has gotten off to an interesting start to the season. They went into Houston as favorites and lost a low-scoring close game by the score of 17-14 and then followed that performance up by beating Texas State in yet another close/low-scoring affair.

Army vs. UTSA Prediction
UTSA was not thought of as a defensive-minded team, but it has been a pleasant surprise to see them be so stout on that side of the ball. One of the biggest problems with this UTSA team so far has been their inability to take care of the ball on offense. They have been extremely turnover-prone through their first two games as they lost the turnover battle 3-0 to Houston and 1-0 to Texas State.
Frank Harris and this UTSA offense have yet to play their best ball and are a few plays away from being 2-0. It also appears that Houston and Texas State may be much better than anticipated, as we saw Texas State go into Baylor and win as nearly 30-point underdogs. Houston's offense has put up very impressive numbers.
But let's go back to UTSA's defense for a bit, as that has been the strong suit of their team. UTSA is ranked 28th in the nation in total defense, as they have allowed just 288 yards per game against two very good offenses so far in Texas State and Houston. The true strength of the UTSA defense is their rushing defense, as they are only allowing 2.0 yards per rush and 1.1 yards per rush at home this season.
These particular stats are extremely important for tonight's matchup due to their opponent, Army, who, as most know, runs the triple option and very rarely passes the ball. Unlike UTSA, Army has played two very weak opponents in their first two games as they lost straight up to a very bad Louisiana Monrow squad and then blew out Delaware State, which is one of the worst FCS teams in the country. In Army's game against ULM, the Black Knights were only able to average 3.4 yards per rush and only racked up 172 yards rushing on a whopping 50 attempts. Louisiana Monroe is usually one of the worst defenses in the nation so the fact that Army had so little success on the ground is very concerning.
I also fully expect UTSA to have some positive regression in the turnover department tonight. Army has turned the ball over six times already, including five turnovers in their game against ULM. The Roadrunners should be able to force 2-3 turnovers tonight, and I do expect Frank Harris to rectify his turnover mistakes and play a clean game. If UTSA can win the turnover and penalty battle, their defense should take care of the rest and shut down this Army triple option with their stifling run defense. With that being said, I am rolling with UTSA -7 at -120 (I bought hook, but still like -7.5/8) for 1.5u as my most confident College Football play of the day for tonight's action.
