Friday's Cross-Sport Parlay Picks: Targeting the Astros and UTSA
Friday night’s college football slate isn’t ideal, but have no fear: I’ve found a way to lock in a bet on the gridiron. It involves parlaying a favorite on the gridiron with a favorite on the baseball diamond. Check out my cross-sport parlay picks for Friday.

I’ve had good success with two team “greaser” parlays in the past. A greaser is an old betting term used to describe a parlay with heavy favorites. I wouldn’t say I’ve picked the heaviest favorites on the board tonight, considering the parlay is at plus money, and it involves two teams that I don’t see having any chance of losing tonight.
Friday's Cross-Sport Parlay Picks
Let’s get the baseball play out of the way. Zack Greinke is 1-15 this season. His ERA on the year has ballooned up to 5.47 after two heinous September starts. Although it might sound square, I don’t see a world where the Astros lose this game to the Royals with Greinke on the mound. Right now, he is the worst starting pitcher in all of baseball. The future Royals Hall of Famer doesn’t have any gas left in the tank, and against this Houston team still looking to secure their playoff spot, this one might get ugly.
Parlay the Astros on the moneyline with UTSA tonight. Although they may be without Frank Harris, their star veteran QB, the Roadrunners’ defense will win them this game themselves. UTSA ranks 14th in the nation in opponent-rushing YPG this season. Their defensive line stepped up big time last week against Texas State, a team that ran all over Baylor and beat them the week prior. Even on a short week, UTSA should have no problems stopping Army’s triple option.
The hype surrounding Army is overblown. They spanked Delaware State last week and put up 57 points, but this Roadrunners defense will be a much tougher test for the Black Knights. Let’s not forget Army lost to ULM as an 8.5-point favorite two weeks ago.
With or without Frank Harris, UTSA will get a much-needed victory at home against an overvalued Army team that hasn’t played a competitive team this season. Parlay UTSA on the moneyline with the Astros tonight, and watch the coins return home safe. On an underwhelming CFB slate like tonight’s, you really have to get creative…
