The Utes are one of the best teams in all of college football this year, and if they can avoid a dumb mistake, they are CFB contenders without question. They were a four-loss team last year that should have been a two-loss team, so how have they responded?
They took care of business in a tough week one matchup against a Florida squad that just rolled through Tennessee, then went to Baylor to win a road game in the fourth quarter. This squad is ready to roll. Even in the absence of star quarterback Cam Rising, they have kept the train rolling, and the defensive unit looks superb.
UCLA has looked good this year without question, but their schedule has been very weak, and they have faced nothing like the Utes thus far. Utah dropped 40+ points and won by a minimum of 20 in four of the last five meetings with UCLA before the Bruins stunned them in 2022 with a ten-point loss.
