Georgia vs Auburn Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds
Georgia is still ranked No. 1 and likely will be until they lose a game, but I think everyone, and their mother would agree that Georgia has looked a bit underwhelming this season. Can they rectify that narrative this week on the road at Auburn? Let's break it down.

Georgia comes into this SEC matchup with Auburn with a 4-0 record as most of us thought they would, as they have played UT-Martin, Ball State, South Carolina, and UAB. Three of these teams are complete bottom feeders as UT-Martin is a so-so FCS team and Ball St/UAB are some of the worst teams in the FBS this season, but in Georgia's one fairly legitimate game against Spencer Rattler and the Gamecocks they faced some unexpected adversity.

Georgia vs Auburn Prediction
Georgia was down 14-3 at halftime and was on serious upset watch. The Georgia offense just has not run as smoothly as it did the past few seasons which honestly is somewhat expected after winning two national championships with Stetson Bennett at the helm and then having to hand over the keys to a completely new quarterback.
Georgia woke up in that second half though as they outscored South Carolina 21-0 in the second half. While UGA avoided disaster, they still have not been good when stacked up to their betting markets this season. They failed to cover against South Carolina, UAB, and UT-Martin in games that they were not even close to covering in and then depending on the number, did not cover against Ball State either.
This Georgia team has simply been coasting by which is fair given that their most important games are well ahead of them, but I think that South Carolina game was a huge eye opener for this team, and I expect a great effort from them for 60 minutes today against Auburn. The Tigers come into this game with a record of 3-1 but it is a fraudulent 3-1 in my opinion as two of those wins are against Samford and UMass, and the other was a last second win against a below average California team by the lowly score of 14-10. Cal missed three field goals in that game and if they had just an average college football kicker, they would have beaten Auburn easily.
In Auburn's first true test against Texas AM, their offense really struggled as they were only able to put up ten points on the Aggies. Auburn lost by a score of 27-10 and it really could have been worse as Texas AM put up 402 yards of total offense and turned the ball over once as well. The Tigers were only only able to muster up 200 yards of total offense in that game and even more alarming was that they only notched 56 total passing yards. In a high-level Division 1 Football game, that is an embarrassing number.
The Auburn offensive line is a real problem as they allowed seven sacks to TAMU and while they did rush for 144 yards on the ground, that came on 41 carries for an average of 3.5 yards per carry. The Georgia defense is still elite as they are ranked fourth in country in average passing yards allowed per attempt (5.0) and 12th in average yards allowed per play.
Payton Thorne is the starting quarterback for Auburn and expectations for him were much higher after a few productive seasons at Michigan State, but things have just not materialized for him and this Auburn offense. He is averaging just 140 yards per game against extremely weak competition and complete just six of 12 passes against TAMU for 44 total yards.
I just do not see where the offense is going to come from for Auburn against this stout Georgia defense and it should be a very long day for Thorne and this Auburn offense. I fully expect Georgia to get pressure on Thorne/Ashford all day and should be able to force multiple turnovers as Auburn had seven total turnovers combined in their games against Samford and California. With that being said, I am rolling with Georgia 1H -7.5 at -105 and Georgia Full Game -14 at -115 for 1.5u each for a 3U total position on Georgia for my most confident College Football Play of the Day for today's action.
