Western Kentucky vs. Louisiana Tech Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds
Western Kentucky came through for me last week against Middle Tennessee State and now they travel to Louisiana to take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs who may be one of the worst teams in the conference. Can we trust the Hilltoppers to take care of business? Let's break it down.

Louisiana Tech comes into this home matchup with Western Kentucky riding high after a road win, which was their first road win since 2020 and a string of 16 straight road losses. Now they get to go back home in the confines of their own stadium but have a tough test in front of them against a high-powered Western Kentucky offense led by Austin Reed, who may be the best quarterback in the conference.

Western Kentucky vs. Louisiana Tech Prediction
On the season, Louisiana Tech ranks 120th out of 133 qualified FBS teams in yards allowed per rushing attempt as they allow 5.5 yards per carry and have been gashed on the ground this season. Western Kentucky is more of an air raid offense, but they should be able to find success on the ground tonight against this less than stellar Louisiana Tech front seven.
This is also a great spot to go against Louisiana Tech after they notched a huge road win over UTEP in what was one of the sloppiest games I have ever seen. UTEP had an insurmountable number of penalties in that game that extended a lot of drives for the Bulldogs, and I simply do not see Western Kentucky making those same type of mistakes tonight to give LTU any type of additional edge. Last week against Middle Tennessee State, the Western Kentucky offense actually struggled a bit.
They were able to put up 31 points, but Austin Reed completed less than 60% of his passes and their offensive unit was just not running as smoothly as we have been accustomed to seeing. Reed was only able to average 5.7 yards per passing attempt which is fairly low for how explosive this offense can be. I fully expect Austin Reed and this high-powered passing attack to connect on some big plays down the field tonight as Louisiana Tech has allowed a lot of chunk plays this season.
Louisiana Tech was gashed for 40 points and 562 yards of total offense against North Texas a few weeks ago as the North Texas passing attack absolutely tore them up. In that game, the mean green starter, Chandler Rogers, completed 24 of 40 passes for over 300 yards and multiple touchdowns as they averaged 7.8 yards per pass attempt. I expect Austin Reed to exceed that tonight and have a big game.
The Western Kentucky defense was a huge question for them the past few seasons, but they stepped up in a major way last week as they held Middle Tennessee State to just ten points and five of 16 on third downs. This could be a game where all phases come together for the Hilltoppers against a Louisiana Tech team in a letdown spot after grabbing their first road win in nearly three and a half years. With that being said, I am rolling with Western Kentucky -5.5 at -110 for 1.5u as one of my most confident college football plays of the day for tonight's action.
