Well the first play I want to dive into this weekend is tonights action on the gridiron as we have two conference clashes in both the Big Ten and the Big 12 tonight. The action gets started in the Big 12 as the Kansas State Wildcats are visiting the Cowboys of Oklahoma State and thirty minutes later and Big Ten showdown between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Illinois Fighting Illini will get started. I am not super crazy about the spreads in these ones but I see a good spot for a teaser and I am ready to dive in.
College Football Week 6 Picks
Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State
After an embarrassing home loss to the University of Southern Alabama three weeks ago, the Cowboys did not respond with a win but did show signs of life in a hard fought loss to Iowa State. With a week off to prepare for this home game, I expect a strong game plan and a lot of attitude from them. With that said, Kansas State has also had a week to prepare for this game and I believe they are the much better football team. Mizzou knocked them off and out of the rankings on a last minute field goal but the Wildcats are still 3-1 and clawing back into the AP Poll. Big spot for the Cats, I like them to capitalize.
Nebraska vs. Illinois
This Big Ten clash should be nothing more than a rock fight if I am being blunt here. Both squads have only had wins over non-power five schools this season to go along with a pair of 2-3 records and neither squad is averaging more than 21 PPG with Nebraska sitting around 18 PPG. I like the way the Cornhuskers have looked recently outside of last week with the quarterback change and I think they can really stall this game out in the trenches. Illinois has had a stronger schedule to prepare themselves but home field advantage doesn't really play a factor there either. I will take the extra points with Nebraska.
