We’re five weeks into the CFB season, and Texas is officially back. They’re 5-0 with a win against Alabama, and are now ranked third in the country. The last time they played Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, they won 49-0. Will Oklahoma shock the world and catch Texas sleeping at home?

Oklahoma vs. Texas Prediction
This isn’t the same Oklahoma team from last year. Coach Venables has this defense locked in for his second season as the Sooners’ head coach, and Dillon Gabriel is having a career season. This will be the best quarterback the Longhorns have faced all season.
Texas is 5-0 and with a win in Tuscaloosa; they deserve the respect they’re getting. They have gotten lucky this season though, considering they haven’t played an elite quarterback yet. Even against Kansas, Daniels got ruled out right before the game. Gabriel will be by far the best quarterback the Longhorns have faced all season, and it’s not even close.
I love this spot for Oklahoma, who is still undervalued in the betting market. Their defense is underrated. I love what Coach Venables has accomplished in his second season at Oklahoma, it’s clear this team isn’t “offense-first” anymore. The Sooners haven’t given up more than 20 points in a game this season, an impressive stat especially for a Big 12 team.
I’m willing to bet that Oklahoma catches the Longhorns sleeping after an incredible 5-0 start. This is the best ranking we’ve seen for Texas in years. Saturday is the perfect spot to fade the Longhorns at home, with who I think is the better overall team (OKLA) on the other side.
With over 80% of bets and handle currently backing Texas, it’s a great sign to see the spread move from TEX -7 to TEX -5.5. There’s some serious reverse line movement on the side of Oklahoma here, and I’ll for it. The Sooners are my favorite play of the weekend. Not only do I think they cover, I wouldn’t be surprised if they go into Dallas and win outright. Grab the points, and enjoy the best bet on Saturday’s loaded CFB slate.
