Oklahoma vs. Texas Prediction

This game could decide the champion of the Big 12. The Red River Rivalry is one of the oldest rivalries in college football.

This rivalry dates all the way back to 1900 when the teams first clashed in a game that Texas won 28-2.

Since the AP poll was created in 1936, at least Texas or Oklahoma has been ranked when the teams have played 71 times.

The Longhorns lead the overall series 63-50-5.

Texas will begin play with a perfect 5-0 record. The Longhorns have one of the best wins of the season on their resume when they beat Alabama in Week 2. Most recently, the Longhorns knocked off a top 25 team in Kansas.

Quarterback Quinn Ewers leads the Longhorns' offense. Ewers has thrown for 1,358 yards, ten touchdowns, and one interception.

Running back Johnathan Brooks has been one of the best running backs in college football, rushing for 597 yards and five touchdowns.

Wide receiver Xavier Worthy has been Ewers' favorite target, catching 26 passes for 345 yards and three touchdowns.

Texas ranks 17th in college football, allowing opponents 290.8 yards per game.

Oklahoma enters Saturday with a perfect 5-0 record, ranked 12th in the nation.

Dillon Gabriel will lead this Sooners offense. The veteran Southpaw has thrown for o1,593 yards, 15 touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Senior running back Marcus Major leads the Sooner, rushing for 199 yards and one touchdown.

Junior wide receiver Andrel Anthony leads the team in receiving, racking up 387 yards and one touchdown.

The Sooners rank 13th in college football in defense. Oklahoma has allowed 318.0 yards per game.

Oklahoma vs. Texas Pick

This is a neutral site game, so there is no true home-field advantage, but the Longhorns will be well-represented.

These are both dynamic offenses, but the difference here is the defense of Texas.

The Longhorns are the much better defensive team, as they have shut down multiple high-level offenses.

Oklahoma has looked good early, but their strength of schedule has been weak. The only challenging game for Oklahoma has been on the road against Cincinnati, where they scored just 20 points.

Pick: Texas -5.5 -110 is currently the best odds. Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
