Missouri vs. Kentucky Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can the Tigers Pull off the Upset Against Devin Leary, Wildcats?

NCAAF Week 7 features another SEC matchup, this time between Missouri and Kentucky. Can the Tigers pull off the upset against Devin Leary and the Wildcats? NCAAF handicapper Matt MacKay provides his prediction and pick for Missouri vs. Kentucky.

Missouri vs. Kentucky Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can the Tigers Pull off the Upset Against Devin Leary, Wildcats?

This Week 7 SEC matchup features two teams coming off of tough losses in much different fashion. Missouri battled for all 60 minutes against LSU, but their defense couldn't contain LSU down the stretch, forcing Mizzou into their own territory and throwing a pick-six to ruin the cover as home underdogs. It was their first loss of the season.

Meanwhile, the Kentucky Wildcats also suffered their first loss on the road against the No. 1 team in the country, as the Georgia Bulldogs routed them 51-13 in prime time. Running back Ray Davis was the only bright spot for the Wildcats' offense, so expect head coach Mark Stoops to have his team prepared for a bounce-back at home in Lexington this weekend.

Oddsmakers have this game close to a pick 'em right now, with the Wildcats sitting as a slight home favorite at -134 moneyline odds on FanDuel. Missouri is +2.5 ATS, while the point total line is set at 52.5. NCAAF handicapper Matt MacKay is here to share his latest prediction and pick for Missouri vs. Kentucky in a prime time SEC matchup between two 5-1 opponents.

Missouri vs. Kentucky Prediction

Kentucky may have to shift its offensive game plan from the traditional run-centric approach behind star running back, Ray Davis, as Missouri has allowed three passing touchdowns in three of its past four games. Excluding LSU, which is among the most potent offenses in the country, Missouri has held opponents to one total rushing touchdown. This means Kentucky quarterback Devin Leary will need to step up on Saturday night, as he's completing only 54 percent of his pass attempts for 12 touchdowns and five interceptions through six games played.

Missouri likes to throw the football behind quarterback Brady Cook, who is completing 71 percent of his pass attempts for nearly 2,000 yards and 13 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He's red hot right now and the Wildcats' pass defense isn't great, allowing at least a 70 percent completion rate in four of its six games played.

We're either hammering Missouri to win outright as slight road underdogs on the moneyline at +112, or taking over 52.5 total points at -110 odds. The Tigers have hit 53 total points in four consecutive games, while the Wildcats have hit 53 total points in three of their six games played. Missouri's ability to move the football downfield will put them in frequent scoring position, while outside of Davis, Kentucky's offense has some concerns surrounding its ability to rack up touchdowns against a good run defense like Missouri's.

Most of Kentucky's games at home have gone under 53 total points, so let's go big and place a couple of units on Missouri to get a road win over Kentucky at plus odds on Saturday night.
