Kansas vs. Oklahoma State Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds

Last week, we watched Oklahoma State pull off a very impressive home upset win over Kansas State as double-digit underdogs. Can they pull off another upset today as a shorter 3-point dog against Kansas? Let’s break it down.

Kansas vs. Oklahoma State Prediction

Last Friday night, Oklahoma State was nearly 13-point home underdogs against Kansas State, who had looked very impressive on the season, but laid an egg in Stillwater as the Cowboys were able to take down the Wildcats by a score of 29-21. In that game, Kansas State ran wild over the Cowboys as they totaled 239 yards on the ground but were plagued by turnovers.

Oklahoma State put together their best offensive game of the season as they put up 412 yards of total offense, did not commit a single turnover, and were not sacked once. The Cowboys did have trouble converting 3rd downs though as they were just 6 for 18 and were helped out immensely by a pick 6 thrown by Howard in the final seconds of the first half.

Overall, Kansas State ran for just under 6.5 yards per carry and gashed Oklahoma State on the ground but were not able to overcome their turnovers, in particular the pick six which was probably the deciding score in the game. While this was an imposing win for Oklahoma State, things do not get any easier for them this week as they have to face a Kansas team that just ran all over UCF last weekend.

Kansas blew the doors off UCF as they won by a final score of 51-22 and ran for a total of 399 yards. I’m not sure there has been a game this season involving two Power 5 teams where a single team has rushed for that many yards, as Kansas absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage in this game on their way to a blowout victory. Kansas ran for an average of 7.8 yards per carry and really did not even need to throw the ball past the first quarter because of their dominance on the ground.

Kansas does have a strong run game, but part of the reason why their game plan against UCF was to run the ball so much was because of the absence of their star quarterback, Jalon Daniels. Kansas will likely be without Daniels again for this contest against the Cowboys, but even with him out, I think this is a very strong position on Kansas facing a very weak Oklahoma State offense due for a letdown.

The Kansas offense ran just fine without Daniels a week ago against a UCF defense that is comparable to Oklahoma State and it is a good sign that Kansas is still favored on the road even without Daniels as the market still seems to view Kansas as the better and more talented team.

That said, I am rolling with KANSAS ML at -138 for 1.5u as one of my most confident College Football plays of the day for today’s action as I think the Jayhawks will go into Stillwater and grab a win.
