Tennessee vs. Alabama Prediction

The Tennessee Volunteers haven't played a road game since they went to Florida in September and lost 29-16.

The Vols have won three straight home games against UTSA, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. Those are solid wins, but a road game against Alabama will be much more challenging.

Joe Milton has led Tennessee with 1,264 yards passing, 10 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He hasn't been anything like Hendon Hooker. Instead, the run game has added more yards per game this year, with Jaylen Wright leading the way.

Wright has averaged 7.1 yards per rush with 80 carries this season.

However, Alabama's defense has kept teams to 292.4 yards per game. The run defense is elite, and the secondary is just as good. The Crimson Tide are talented and have won many games because of their defense.

While Alabama has only averaged 367.9 yards per game, the offense has improved with Jalen Milroe. Milroe has thrown for 1,397 yards and has 11 passing touchdowns. He's also a capable runner, with Jase McClellan standing next to him, averaging 4.8 yards per carry.

Milroe's connection with Jermaine Burton has excelled. Burton has finally given Alabama a threat in the passing game.

Tennessee is dominant in coverage as well, averaging only 197.8 yards per game allowed through the air. The secondary is elite, and the pass rush is very effective. However, Tennessee has missed a lot of tackles and isn't fantastic against the run.

Alabama will be more effective in the run game, and that should help them get by Tennessee at home.

Let's take the Crimson Tide at -9.5. They'll be ready. This isn't the same Tennessee team, despite its solid win against Texas A&M.
