Liberty vs. Western Kentucky Prediction: Can Austin Reed, Hilltoppers Upset Undefeated Liberty?

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers host the undefeated Liberty Flames at home on Tuesday night for this Conference USA battle. Can Austin Reed and the Hilltoppers bounce back after blowing the lead on the road last week to spoil Liberty's season?

Liberty vs. Western Kentucky Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds

We are only in Week 9 of the CFB season, and the Liberty Flames already pretty much have a spot in the Conference USA Championship. They are 7-0 on the season, and 5-0 in conference play. Western Kentucky, on the other hand, is coming off a blown opportunity where they gave up a lead in the second half to an inferior team. Will the “Big Red” come out firing in a must-win spot, or will Liberty continue their perfect season?

Liberty vs. Western Kentucky Prediction

Western Kentucky was projected to have the best offense in this conference before the season. With one of the best QB/WR duos in the sport, it’s time for Austin Reed and Malachi Corley to show up in a must-win spot. Coming off their worst performance of the season, I’m willing to bet these two stars shine at home tonight against the Flames.

Liberty has a top-35 rush defense, but their pass defense ranks outside the top-50. Austin Reed has a great matchup at home to bounce back and keep WKU’s CUSA Championship hopes alive. With a conference loss under their belt already, WKU can’t afford to drop another game this season if they want to face off against Liberty in the conference championship game.

Liberty has yet to lose this season, but they’ve battled through some close wins in the last couple weeks. They didn’t covered against MTSU and SHSU, two of the worst teams in FBS this season. This team needs their bye week like they need air, and they aren’t going to get it until after this contest with Western Kentucky.

I’m willing to bet Western Kentucky catches the undefeated Flames sleeping on the road tonight, potentially winning this game outright. Liberty has their own “dynamic duo” at QB and RB with Kaidon Salter and Quinton Cooley in the backfield, but their defense has looked beatable in recent weeks. If MTSU was able to put up 35 points against the Flame last week, I can’t even imagine what WKU is going to do to this secondary tonight. With the total moving up and the spread getting shorter, I’m fully expecting a WKU offensive masterclass tonight. Fade the undefeated Flames, and back WKU in a must-win spot with the points.
