5 minTexas A&M vs. Ole Miss Prediction, Pick, Odds: Will Jaxson Dart, Rebels Dominate at Home?
One of the better matchups on the Week 10 college football slate features the Ole Miss Rebels against the Texas A&M Aggies. While Ole Miss is 7-1 outright and has won four consecutive games, Texas A&M bounced back from a two-game losing skid in Week 9, beating South Carolina 30-17 at home.
The Aggies lost QB1, Conner Weigman, for the season with an ankle injury a few weeks ago, forcing Max Johnson under center. Johnson has been pedestrian, playing poorly against top SEC defenses that include Tennessee and Alabama. However, against the Gamecocks, Johnson completed 66 percent of pass attempts for 249 yards and a touchdown, while avoiding turnovers for the first time since a 27-10 win over Auburn a few weeks ago.
Ole Miss has been one of the best scoring offenses in the country, averaging 38.9 points per game, ranked 10th in the country. The defense has also shown up, allowing under 21.5 points per game, keeping opponents under 4.0 YPC in three consecutive contests. Texas A&M is a stout defense in their own right, allowing just two total rushing touchdowns this season, so it'll be a fun matchup to watch the Aggies' run defense against the effective, run-centric offense deployed by Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
NCAAF handicapper Matt MacKay is back to share his latest prediction and pick for Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss.

Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss Prediction
Max Johnson will need to elevate his play to keep up with Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, who is a dual-threat signal caller that has accounted for 23 total touchdowns this season. Johnson will face an Ole Miss pass defense that has been a bit vulnerable lately, surrendering two or more receiving touchdowns to Georgia Tech, LSU, and Arkansas.
The Aggies offense will need to insure RB1 Le'Veon Moss is good to go, as he's currently tagged questionable with a hamstring injury. Moss hasn't been a touchdown machine, but he's the motor that drives Texas A&M's offense, handling 77 carries for 5.0 YPC. Amari Daniels and Rueben Owens also cycle into the backfield rotation for Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher, forming a three-headed committee that remains fresh.
Texas A&M will need to establish its passing attack with aggressive play calling early to help its rushing attack against the Rebels, who have held every opponent, excluding LSU, to under 4.0 YPC. Oddsmakers are giving the Aggies +4.5 ATS on the road in Oxford on Saturday, while the point total line is set to 54.5. Moneyline odds are also pretty even, with the edge going to the home favorite Rebels at -192 odds.
The Aggies are 4-4 ATS, while the Rebels are 6-2 ATS. Despite scoring at a high-rate, Ole Miss has cashed unders in five of eight games played. Texas A&M has only played two true road games this season, losing both outright to Tennessee and Miami by at least seven points. Ole Miss has won every home game this season, with a winning margin of at least five points in all matchups leading up to Saturday's noon kickoff. It's hard to envision the Rebs failing to cover -4.5 ATS against the Aggies' volatile offense with their QB2 on the road.
Let's place three units on Ole Miss -4.5 ATS (-110) to extend its dominant streak at home in a tough SEC matchup against Texas A&M during Saturday's noon slate.
