Bowling Green vs. Kent State Prediction, Betting Pick, and Latest Odds
Bowling Green -4.5 last week against Ball State was one of the more excruciating losses of the season for me as they could not punch the ball in the end zone with first and goal from the one, but they did get the win. How will they fare tonight on the road against Kent State? Let's break it down.

Bowling Green has had a very up and down season as they actually enter this game with a record of 5-4 and all of their losses have been respectable as they came against Michigan, Liberty, Ohio, and Miami (OH) who have a combined record of 32-5. Bowling Green's offense has been much improved over the past few weeks as they have scored 20+ points in three straight games against Buffalo, Akron, and Ball State including a 41-point explosion against Akron.

Bowling Green vs. Kent State Prediction
While their offense has been moving the ball better, they may be without their star running back, Terion Stewart, who suffered an ankle injury in their win against Ball State last week. Stewart rattled off a 54-yard touchdown run and is averaging 85 rushing yards per game this season, so his absence would be a big blow to this offense, which is already inconsistent when he is healthy. Even if Stewart does go, you have to wonder how effective he will be on a hobbled ankle.
Bowling Green is also one of the slowest teams in the nation as they are ranked 131st in seconds per play on offense (30.2) and run the ball at an above average rate (56%), which is ranked 30th in the nation. They play Kent State, who has been a dumpster fire this season, but their defense has actually had somewhat of a pulse at home this season.
Against Miami of Ohio, they held the Redhawks to just 23 points and 292 yards of total offense and that was when they had Bret Gabbert, who is one of the best quarterbacks in the MAC. Then against Buffalo, they held the Bulls to 24 points and only 331 total yards of offense, so Kent State has actually been somewhat respectable on defense when in the confines of their own stadium. Kent State also runs their offense at a glorified snail's pace as they average 26.3 seconds per play, which is ranked 72nd in the country.
Overall, this game has a very similar feel to Ohio/Buffalo last night as Ohio was a 7-point road favorite against the lowly Bulls. The game was nearly scoreless at halftime before Ohio stormed back in the second half to narrowly cover the -7 spread but the game was played at a snails pace with a ton of running from both sides.
The quarterback play in this matchup between Bowling Green and Kent State is well below average and Kent State actually has one of the highest rushing rates in the nation as they run the ball on 56% of their plays, which is actually ranked just behind Bowling Green at 31st nationally. With that being said, I am rolling with the Full Game Under 41 at -109 for 1.5U as one of my most confident college football plays of the day as I think this will be a fairly low scoring game with a lot of running on both sides. Feels like a 24-10 or 21-13 type game.
