Michael Penix Jr. is still the betting favorite to win the Heisman, but his inconsistent play of late has been concerning. The best part of Penix's game is smart decision-making and ball security. He doesn’t turn the ball over, until recently. Penix has now thrown at least one INT in each of the last four games, and six of his last eight games.
With Penix’s recent turnover struggles, I’m willing to bet the Utes’ defense shows up, forcing at least one turnover in this matchup. This Utah defense is legit. They just held Arizona State to three points in their last game, and although the Utah offense tends to disappear on the road at times, their defense shows up every week. I’d like to lean into this angle with the under…
I don’t think Utah will follow up their fifty-five point performance with another offensive masterclass on Saturday. Not on the road against this Washington defensive line. Although Washington’s secondary is suspect, that won’t matter on Saturday with Utah’s rush-first offensive approach. With Cam Rising still out, this team doesn’t have a stud QB to air it out anymore. The Huskies’ defensive strengths match up great with Utah’s offensive game plan.
This total opened up at 53.5 and has since been steamed down to 49.5 on most books. Bet this under before the total dips any lower. Penix will continue his turnover trend against one of the best defenses in the country, and Utah will struggle to move the ball against the Huskies’ defensive line.
