Alabama vs. Auburn Prediction, Pick, Odds: Will Jalen Milroe, Tide Roll in Iron Bowl Clash?

The Auburn Tigers are in the middle of some growing pains. The Tigers just lost to New Mexico State, 31-10, in a buy-game before their matchup against Alabama.

Alabama can relate. They had some growing pains earlier in the year, too. However, the difference was that Alabama escaped with wins despite poor play. Auburn didn't.

The Crimson Tide have really found their stride since re-committing to quarterback Jalen Milroe. Does Auburn stand a chance at home on Saturday in this rivalry matchup between the Tigers and the Crimson Tide?

Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Saturday's game between the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Auburn Tigers.

Alabama vs. Auburn Prediction

It's year one in the Hugh Freeze era for the Auburn Tigers. While growing pains are expected, a home loss to New Mexico State, 31-10, is unacceptable.

Auburn had won three straight SEC games before that loss, so it was a bit confusing.

Auburn amassed only 213 total yards against New Mexico State. So, imagine how many yards Auburn will pick up against Alabama.

Alabama has allowed just 178.4 yards in the air and 117.1 yards on the ground this season. This defense has been the backbone for the Crimson Tide all year. They've given up only 18.1 points per game and improved in all areas as the season progressed.

On the other hand, Auburn's defense is also not bad. They've allowed only 20.5 points per game while holding teams to 180.9 yards in the air. But New Mexico State exploited Auburn in some areas, and I'm sure Alabama will capitalize when they watch the film.

Offensively, the Crimson Tide are led by Milroe, who has 19 passing touchdowns. But he's also got 12 rushing touchdowns and can run all over Auburn. He's even got a game this year with 20 carries for 155 yards against LSU, where he scored four rushing touchdowns.

He and running back Jase McClellan should be able to gain solid yardage on the ground to help Alabama push away from Auburn.

Typically, a road game for Alabama is scary against Auburn. But after last week's loss, you can forget it. Alabama can't be stopped right now, scoring at least 42 points in each of their last three games.

Take the Crimson Tide to cover at -14.5.
