Georgia vs. Alabama Prediction: Can the Crimson Tide Stifle Carson Beck, Georgia in SEC Championship?

There might be double-digit conference championships this weekend, but all eyes will be on Georgia vs Alabama. This is the most-anticipated game of the college football season. Everyone will be watching, and more importantly, betting on this game. Read on for my best bet in the game of the year.

Georgia vs. Alabama Prediction

This epic rematch of the 2022 National Championship has a much difference setup under center. Both of these elite programs will be trotting out over-performing first-year starters. Carson Beck and Jalen Milroe deserve their flowers, but will they be able to handle the pressure of playing on the biggest stage of their careers?

I’m willing to bet these elite defensive lines rattle both QBs under the brightest of lights, especially Jalen Milroe. For the first time in years, Alabama doesn’t have an elite offensive line. Although I do expect Nick Saban to keep this game within ten points, I don’t see Milroe and this offense having their way with Georgia like they have against much inferior units like Auburn, Chattanooga and Kentucky in recent weeks.

Alabama won’t be the only offense struggling to score on Saturday. This Bama defense has stepped up immensely in recent weeks, especially their front-seven. Carson Beck’s three-game sack-less streak is unfortunately coming to an end against a Bama defense that’s top-ten in sacks this season.

The entire public is slamming the over in this highly-anticipated SEC battle, but I’m fading this Bama offense that’s 9-3 to the over on the season, currently on a five game streak. If Bama wants to win this game, it’s going to have to be with their defense. It won’t be easy, as they’re going against a Bulldogs team that ranks inside the top ten in total defense.

This game has all the makings of a primetime letdown between two first year quarterbacks who have been severely over-performing. I’m not saying Jalen Milroe and Carson Beck aren’t good, I’m just saying I want to fade them and the public, especially with Milroe coming off that legacy comeback against Auburn.

Fade the public and take the under on Saturday. Although I’m sure we’d all like to root for the over in this game, I have a feeling oddsmakers aren’t going to let over 80% of the public cash out in the biggest game of the year. Although these quarterbacks have been impressive lately, it’s going to be the defenses that shine in Atlanta on Saturday.
