Head Coach Rhett Lashlee knows his squad will be challenged this season.
Lashlee led the Mustangs to an 11-3 season in 2023.
Junior Preston Stone returns to lead the Mustangs offense. The Dallas native threw for 3,197 yards, 28 touchdowns, and six interceptions last year.
Miami transfer Brashard Smith leads the SMU rushing attack. Smith darted for 132 yards last year while primarily playing wide receiver for the Hurricanes.
Senior Jake Bailey will be one of the top options in the passing game. Bailey caught 42 passes worth 528 yards.
Nevada will look to bounce back from a rough 2023 season in which they went 2-10. Former Head Coach Ken Wilson was fired after going 4-20 in his two seasons in Reno.
Before the Wilson era, Nevada had not had a losing season since 2017.
Jeff Choate begins his first season at the helm for the Wolfpack.
Choate was the head coach of Montana State from 2016-2019.
Junior Brendon Lewis will lead the Wolfpack offense. Lewis threw for 1,313 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions last year.
Sean Dollars leads the Nevada run game. Dollars has rushed for 527 yards and six touchdowns.
Nevada is optimistic about wide receiver Cortez Braham Jr. Braham collected just 17 yards last year but is primed for a breakout in this new starting role.
