2024 Pac-12 Season Preview: Pac-12 Conference Predictions and Betting Picks

In this article, we will dive into the Pac-12 Conference.

Yes, there is still a Pac-12 Conference.

The only difference is that this year, the conference is made up of just two teams.

The two teams that did not find a new home were the Oregon State Beavers and the Washington State Cougars.

Let’s dive in and break down both teams.

2024 Pac-12 Conference Season Predictions

1. Oregon State Beavers

  • 2023 Record: (8-5)
  • Key Additions: Kobe Singleton (CB), Darrius Clemons (WR), Gevani McCoy (QB), Gabbari Johnson (QB), Van Wells (IOL), Tygee Hill (DT)
  • Key Losses: DJ Uiagaleli (QB), Aidan Chiles (QB), Damien Martinez (RB), Easton Mascreanas-Arnold (LB), Jermod McCoy (CB), Silas Bolden (WR), Jack Velling (TE), Sione Lolhea (DL) Akili Arnold (S), Kitan Oladopo (S)
  • Team Total Wins: 7.5 +110
  • Favorite Future Bet: Oregon State Under 7.5 wins -135

After a promising season in Corvallis, the Beavers' roster was shaken up in the transfer portal.

Once news broke that the Beavers would not be joining a power conference, key players began hitting the portal.

Additionally, former head coach Johnathan Smith took the Michigan State head coaching job.

Trent Bray will take over the Beavers program.

Gevani McCoy is expected to be named as the team's starting quarterback.

McCoy previously played for Idaho in the FCS.

Oregon State brings back some key defensive pieces from their 10-win team.

Kobe Singleton and Jaden Robinson will return in the secondary for the Beavers.

The biggest question mark for the Beavers will be on offense.

The offense is expected to lean on their running back, Jam Griffin, who rushed for 488 yards behind Damien Martinez.

I would be surprised if the Beavers won eight games in the regular season.

As mentioned, Oregon State lost many key players to the portal and the NFL.

While their defense will be solid, this offense is going to struggle.

There is no roster at the quarterback position that has shown a true starter, and the skill position players are below average.

2. Washington State Cougars

  • 2023 Record: 5-7
  • Key Additions: Zevi Eckhaus (QB), Syrus Webster (Edge), Kris Huston (WR), Tyson Durant (CB), Tre Shackelford (WR), Wesley Steiner (LB), Kyle Maxwell (WR), Keith Brown (LB), Austin Lawrence (OT)
  • Key Losses: Cam Ward (QB), Josh Kelly (RB), Javan Robinson (CB), Jaylen Jenkins (RB), DT Sheffield (WR), Tristan Souza (DL), Jaden Hicks (CB), Brennan Jackson (Edge), Chau Smith-Wade (CB)
  • Team Total Wins: 7.5 -110
  • Favorite Future Bet: Washington State Over 7.5 wins -110

The Cougars will look to rebound from a tough season in the PAC 12.

Washington State lost their best player, Cam Ward, to the transfer portal.

The Cougars' starting quarterback will be either Zevi Eckhaus or last year's backup, John Mateer.

Eckhaus, a transfer from Bryant University, was a finalist for the FCS Walter Payton Award, which is equal to the NCAAS Heisman Trophy Award.

The Cougars' defensive unit will be different from the one we saw a season ago.

Between the transfer portal and the NFL, the Cougars lost some key players.

They will need their incoming transfers to step up and remake this defense.

Pick: Washington State Over 7.5 Wins -110 Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

This play is all about the strength of schedule that Washington State will face.

Washington State will play eight games against Mountain West opponents.

While this team may not be as talented as it was a season ago, I still rank it ahead of most teams from the Mountain West.

There is a lot of potential on both sides of the football surrounding this team.
