Stanford vs. Syracuse Prediction
Head coach Troy Taylor begins year two at the helm for Stanford. Taylor is confident that this team is good enough to compete and make a bowl game this season.
Stanford lost 34-27 against TCU and answered back with a 41-7 win over Cal Poly. Junior Ashton Daniels leads the Stanford offense. Daniels has thrown for 384 yards and three touchdowns. Additionally, Daniels has rushed for 118 yards.
Chris Davis Jr. has led the backfield, rushing for 53 yards on six attempts. Sophomore Elic Ayomanor is one of the best receivers in the ACC. Ayomanor leads the teams with 147 yards.
Stanford's defense struggled in Week 1 against TCU, but held Cal Poly to seven points last weekend.
Syracuse begins this contest with a 2-0 record. Entering the season, there was a buzz around this program.
The Orange landed former Ohio State signal caller Kyle McCord in the transfer portal. Additionally, Syracuse added a lot of talent to the defensive side of the football.
First-year head coach Fran Brown has this program on the right track. Since 2019, the Orange have produced just one winning season.
McCord is off to a hot start, with the Cuse passing for 735 yards and eight touchdowns after two weeks.
New Jersey native Lequint Allen leads the ground game, rushing for 181 yards. Tight end Oronde Gadsden III leads the team with 201 yards and three touchdowns through the air.
The Orange defense has been up and down after two weeks.
Stanford vs. Syracuse Betting Pick
Stanford will struggle to get stops facing this high-tempo offense.
McCord has looked like one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season. The Cardinal defense is one of the worst in the ACC, and I expect Syracuse to drop 30+ points tonight.
On the other hand, the Orange have struggled on defense, allowing 22 points to a below-average Ohio offense and 28 points last weekend against Georgia Tech.
Stanford will be able to move the football and put up enough points for the over.
