The Michigan State Spartans will make the short trip to Ann Arbor for a Big Ten battle with the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday night. These teams have met 116 times, and every year since 1945. While Michigan leads the overall series by nearly double, the last 10 years have been split half and half.
Aidan Chiles and the Spartans finally have some forward trajectory after upsetting the Iowa Hawkeyes last week. They'll look to parlay that with another win today as a 4.5-point road underdog to their biggest rival. On the other side, Michigan is struggling mightily. They were just blown out on the road against Illinois, and have no direction on offense.
Will the Wolverines be able to get back on track at home and avoid an embarrassing defeat? Let's take a look at the latest Michigan State vs. Michigan odds and predict this matchup.

Michigan State vs. Michigan Prediction
The Michigan State Spartans looked like they turned a corner last week after a rough middle stretch of the season. They dominated a solid Iowa team from start to finish, almost doubling their total yards. They rushed for 212 total yards on the ground, a crucial area that Michigan has struggled to stop. While they were wrecked for two weeks in a row against No. 1 Ohio State and No. 4 Oregon, those results are to be expected for a rebuilding program.
Meanwhile, Michigan got spanked last week. They were surprisingly road favorites against a one-loss Illinois team, despite not having a true starting QB. The Wolverines couldn't stop the Illini rushing attack, giving up 187 yards on the ground and trailed throughout the game. They only mustered one touchdown, and lost the turnover battle with two fumbles and an interception.
The Wolverines will now turn back to Davis Warren at QB, after failed experiments with Alex Orji and Jack Tuttle. He was the original starter to begin the season, but hasn't seen the field since Week 3. Warren has six interceptions to two touchdowns on the year, and will need to turn it around fast and avoid giveaways against the Spartans. On defense, Michigan will also be without star CB Will Johnson, one of the best defensive backs in the Big Ten.
Things are heading in the wrong way for the Maize and Blue, and this line has moved the same way. It has fallen from +6.5 to +4.5 over the course of the week, with 51% of the bets and 72% of the total money piling in on the Spartans. We are going to ride with that sharp side on Saturday night, as Michigan hasn't demonstrated any ability to blow out opponents, if they can even win the game at all. This is a rivalry game with two mediocre teams, and an extremely low total at 38.5. It should be more of a defensive battle, and the Wolverines are not really capable of winning by more than a field goal if they can find a way to survive the upset bid.
