Texas vs. Vanderbilt Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest Odds

The Texas Longhorns and the Vanderbilt Commodores will be for an SEC showdown Saturday afternoon.

Texas will attempt to rebound from a blowout loss last weekend at home against the Georgia Bulldogs. The loss knocked the Longhorns out of the number one spot in college football, as they begin this contest ranked fifth in the nation.

After the loss last weekend, the Longhorns' margin for error is slim to none. They know that they need to win this game today to stay in College Football Playoff contention. The Longhorns do have impressive wins on their resume over Michigan and Oklahoma. A win today would go a long way for this Longhorns team.

Texas vs. Vanderbilt Prediction

Signal caller Quinn Ewers will look to bounce back from last weekend's poor showing. Ewers has thrown for 1,101 yards, eleven touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Quintrevion Wisner has rushed for 330 yards and two touchdowns.

Alabama transfer Isiah Bond has been the favorite target of Ewers with 380 yards.

Texas ranks first in points allowed per game (9.7).

Vanderbilt begins the contest with a 5-2 record. That record has them ranked 25th in the nation. After years of being the laughingstock of the SEC, the Commodores have proven they are a legitimate team this season.

Vandy picked up one of its biggest wins in program history when it beat Alabama at home a few weeks ago. Since the win over the Tide, Vandy has won back-to-back games against Kentucky and Ball State. A win today would put Vandy into the playoff conversation.

New Mexico native Diego Pavia leads the offense, throwing for 1,391 yards, 11 touchdowns, and one interception. Pavia has also rushed for a team-best 470 yards.

Senior Sedrick Alexander has darted for 380 yards and five touchdowns.

Eli Stowers has collected a team-best 463 yards and two touchdowns.

Texas vs. Vanderbilt Pick

Texas will come out firing today after a sluggish offensive performance last weekend.

Vanderbilt will struggle against this Texas offensive line, setting the tone for this game.

The Longhorns will be able to establish their style of play early and move the ball with ease.

Vanderbilt has not been a great defensive unit this season, including a game in which they allowed 32 points against Georgia State.
