Clemson comes into the contest with a record of 9-3, ranking the Tigers 17th in the nation. Last weekend, Clemson suffered a rough loss against South Carolina in a thriller. The Tigers led most of the way, but a late fourth-quarter touchdown for South Carolina was the difference. At that moment, it appeared Clemson's playoff hopes were dead.
However, the Syracuse Orange saved Clemson's season by taking down the Miami Hurricanes a few hours later, swapping Clemson into this ACC Championship Game. If the Tigers can pull off a win tonight, they will have earned a trip to the College Football Playoff.

SMU has been one of the best stories in college football this season. Entering the year, the Mustangs had low expectations in the ACC. SMU has exceeded all of them and proved the doubters wrong, posting an 11-1 record and earning the No. 9 spot in the country.
