5 Minute ReadKansas State vs. Arizona Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest CFB Odds for Friday Big 12 Showdown
Kansas State’s season has taken a surprising turn after entering the year ranked and full of expectations. The Wildcats stumbled in their Big 12 opener against Iowa State and were then stunned by Army last week in one of the early season’s biggest upsets. Even in their lone win over North Dakota, K-State looked underwhelming, raising questions about consistency on both sides of the ball. Despite those struggles, the Wildcats enter this weekend’s matchup as a road favorite, a position that feels uneasy given their recent form.
Arizona, on the other hand, has been one of the more pleasant surprises of the young season. The Wildcats are undefeated heading into this showdown and get the advantage of hosting a Kansas State team still searching for answers. Arizona’s offense has shown balance and poise, while their defense has held up well in key moments, allowing them to build momentum heading into this non-conference test.
The contrast between a K-State team trying to steady itself and an Arizona squad eager to prove its legitimacy makes this matchup a pivotal one for both programs. Kansas State will look to lean on experience to bounce back, but Arizona’s confidence and home-field edge could make this one of the more intriguing games of the week.

Kansas State vs. Arizona Prediction
Kansas State enters this game at 1-2 after a slow start to the season, but this is the perfect spot for a bounce-back. They dominated Arizona 31-7 last season, controlling the run game and forcing turnovers, and much of that defensive blueprint still applies here.
Offensively, Kansas State gets a boost with Dylan Edwards returning from injury. His speed and versatility add another layer to a unit that already has big-play potential with QB Avery Johnson. Kansas State’s offense has shown flashes this year, and with Edwards back, they have the firepower to stress Arizona’s defense in a way it hasn’t seen yet. Although they have looked horrible so far this year, this game is huge for the Big 12 and I expect to see their best performance.
Arizona has looked strong early, outscoring opponents 88-9 through two games. Their defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown yet, but those numbers came against Hawai’i and Weber State—hardly the caliber of Kansas State. This will be the first real test for a unit that still has questions in the secondary.
Offensively, Arizona has playmakers, but Kansas State’s front seven created problems for them last year, holding them to just 67 rushing yards in that game. If the Wildcats can replicate that defensive performance, Arizona will have to play from behind the chains all night.
This line opened tight with Kansas State around −1.5 and the moneyline at −115, reflecting how evenly matched these teams look on paper. But Kansas State’s experience in close games, combined with their defensive edge and offensive reinforcements, gives them the value side here despite playing on the road. Kansas State is desperate and this is a must win for them. I expect their best effort and for them to prove why they were originally one of the Bit 12 Favorites entering the year.

Kansas State has urgency, experience, and key pieces returning at the right time. Arizona is a good team, but this is a major step up from their early competition, and I expect Kansas State to expose that tonight.
