Oregon enters at 2-1 after responding to its Oklahoma State upset loss with an 84-0 demolition of Portland State. USC is 4-0 and 1-0 in Big Ten play after surviving Rutgers 42-35. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM ET on NBC at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.
The Ducks are three-point road favorites despite USC's undefeated record. The line reflects the market's continued respect for Oregon's roster even after its 39-31 loss at Oklahoma State.

Oregon responded to one of the season's biggest upsets by beating Portland State 84-0. Moore threw four first-half touchdown passes, and the Ducks produced 49 points before halftime before continuing to score with the reserves.
The result does not erase what happened at Oklahoma State, but the offensive response was exactly what Oregon needed. More importantly, the Ducks' defense allowed zero points and kept Portland State from generating even late garbage-time production.

USC remained unbeaten with a 42-35 win at Rutgers. Maiava threw for 277 yards, King Miller rushed for 102 and the Trojans produced enough late offense to survive after allowing Rutgers to score 35.
USC has clearly established its offensive ceiling, but the defensive performance creates concerns against Oregon. Giving up 35 to Rutgers is a much different warning sign when the next opponent has Moore and a far deeper collection of offensive skill talent.

USC is attracting more individual spread bets, with roughly 58% to 59% of tickets on the home underdog. The money tells the opposite story, with approximately three-quarters of the DraftKings spread handle backing Oregon -3.
The Over is overwhelmingly public, drawing more than 90% of total tickets. That makes the spread split more useful, with larger average wagers clearly landing on the Ducks.
Oregon vs. USC Prediction
USC's passing game will test Oregon in ways Portland State never could. Maiava has already thrown for 1,173 yards, and the Trojans have enough speed outside to punish missed assignments immediately.
The issue for USC is defense. Rutgers produced 35 points, 122 rushing yards from Antwan Raymond and enough sustained offense to keep the game tied deep into the second half.
Oregon has a significantly more dangerous offense than Rutgers. Moore is surrounded by multiple backs and receivers who can create yards after contact, forcing USC to defend the entire width of the field.
The Ducks also have the defensive talent to create a few more empty USC possessions. Oregon does not need to shut Maiava down. It needs two or three stops that Rutgers could not produce.
Recent history heavily favors Oregon. The Ducks have won four straight in the series and have repeatedly scored into the 30s and 40s against USC. That matchup familiarity matters more than Oregon's one bad afternoon in Stillwater.
The betting split is another positive. More people are taking USC with the points, but the much larger share of money is backing Oregon. That profile supports laying the field goal rather than overreacting to the Ducks' upset loss two weeks ago.
