Who comes out on top and makes the playoffs between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers? Matt O'Leary shares his same-game parlay.
ANALYSIS

Las Vegas Raiders vs Los Angeles Chargers SNF Same-Game Parlay: A Shootout in the Desert

Win and in. Both the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers have the same goal for this game. A win allows these two teams into the playoffs and will likely result in a date with the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs.

Both of these teams have at times looked excellent and then completely lost at other times as well. Which one of these inconsistent teams comes out on top in Week 18? Find out in my same-game parlay:

Leg 1: Justin Herbert 230+ passing yards

There was no sophomore slump for Justin Herbert this year. He's averaging 289.4 yards per game with 35 touchdowns and 4,631 yards passing on the year. Based on his season average you're probably wondering why I went so conservative at 230. Well, the last time these two teams played the Raiders held him to just 222 passing yards and on the season they're allowing 214.6 yards per game. Herbert should be able to eclipse this number though when you consider the style of this game. I'm expecting a shootout between these two teams with their season on the line so give me Herbert over 230.

Leg 2: Raiders over 19.5 points

To piggyback off of what I just said I think this is a shootout with both teams clearing 20 points. On the season, Vegas is averaging just over 21 points per game. Looking at their last five games though they've scored just 15, 9, 16, 17, 23. They'll need a kickstart on their offense. Luckily, the Chargers allow points like it's going out of style. They allow an average of 26.5 per game so the Raiders should, keyword being should, have enough to clear 20 on them.

Leg 3: Chargers ML

When it comes down to it, between these two inconsistent teams, I'm taking the better quarterback. That's no disrespect to Derek Carr who has been very good this year too but Justin Herbert is a special talent. The Chargers roster is better from top to bottom and unless the demons of past quarterbacks and regimes are still lingering and the Chargers curse remains then I think they'll be fine.
