The Steelers come into this year as a mystery team. They have a lot of questions at the quarterback position as they added Mitch Trubisky to the team in the off-season and also drafted Kenny Pickett. Trubisky will get the start for today's game, looking to make his final case as the starter of this team.
Mike Tomlin, the Steeler's head coach, has never had a losing season. He is one of the best coaches in football and will look to bring his team back to the postseason. It was somewhat of a miracle that the Steelers made the playoffs last year, with Ben Rothlisbetger literally looking like he was playing on his last leg. This is a team that is excited about its roster and will look to surprise the league this season.
The Lions were the worst team in football last year but are looking to flip the script on that this season. This is a team that has low expectations and would shock the league if they were able to make the postseason. They will be led by Jared Goff at the QB position to start the year. The Lions have some young players on their roster that will be exciting to watch as the year goes on.Â
I will be backing the Steelers on the first-half spread today. Trubisky should play most of the half, if not all of it, and he will be the best QB on the field. I trust that the Steelers have the better roster today and will take advantage of the Lion's roster.
