Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers prediction and pick for Week 1 in the NFL. When these two rivals meet in the first week of the season, how should you bet it? Handicapper Jason Radowitz tells us.
ANALYSIS

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Mitch Trubisky Hold Onto Job in Pittsburgh?

The Pittsburgh Steelers will begin their 2022 NFL season going up against the AFC Champions, Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals needed to revamp their offensive line but overall, had a terrific finish to their 2021-'22 campaign. On the other hand, Ben Roethlisberger retired from the Steelers, leaving the Steelers looking for a new franchise quarterback for the first time in a very long time. The Steelers now have three capable quarterbacks in their quarterback room. But it looks like Mitch Trubisky will get the first crack at things. Trubisky doesn't have much wiggle room. If he struggles early, he could be pulled early for new rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. Can Trubisky prove his worth against the Bengals on Sunday? Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction

One thing was very apparent last season. The Bengals needed to find more offensive line help. They did that during the offseason. Therefore, the offense looks poised to have another big season.

The only weakness for the Bengals last year was their pass protection. Even the run blocking was good enough. But the Bengals need to ensure their prized quarterback doesn't take a beating this year. If he stays healthy, the Bengals could have another huge season.

The Bengals don't have tight end C.J. Uzomah back, but Hayden Hurst won't be a terrible option at tight end for Burrow.

On the other hand, the Steelers should be better on the defensive end this season. The coverage was weak, and the rushing defense wasn't nearly as good as in previous seasons. The pass rush for the Steelers was the only thing that worked well for them.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, this isn't the same Bengals offensive line as last year's unit.

Meanwhile, the Steelers will more than likely send out Mitch Trubisky. He has some solid options on the offensive end. George Pickens got a starting spot as a rookie wideout. Chase Claypool and Diontae Johnson are viable options as well.

The Steelers will also use Najee Harris as their workhorse. He can catch passes out of the backfield, and he can run angrily down the field.

Last year, the Bengals were also terrible against the run. You can expect Harris to have a really big game on the ground against this Bengals defensive line.

With the total set at 44.5, I like the over.
