Russell Wilson will make his Denver Broncos debut against his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, in Seattle, on Monday Night Football.

Wilson just signed a five-year extension with Denver before even playing a snap. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have settled their quarterback debate and named Geno Smith quarterback over Drew Lock.

There's a big quarterback mismatch in this game. But will that allow the Broncos to run away with this one on the road?

Russell Wilson wanted a change of scenery. He already brought a championship to Seattle and made back-to-back Super Bowl appearances earlier in his career with the Seahawks.

Eventually, the franchise started losing. He was being hit a lot at the quarterback position, and he had acknowledged that he had had enough. So now Wilson will be slinging touchdowns with the Broncos in Lumen Field on Monday Night, going up against his former team.

He'll hear more cheering than boos, but ultimately, some Seattle fans aren't happy with the way things ended.

That's all besides the point now.

Wilson will have many more playmakers on his side with Denver. He's got Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon III at running back and will be throwing to Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, and Albert Okwuegbunam.

Last year, the Broncos ran the ball extremely well. Williams was a breakout player for the Broncos. However, the passing game wasn't up to par.

If Wilson can get the passing game to the next level with Denver, the offense should be able to do some big things throughout the season. Tim Patrick won't be around this year to contribute due to an ACL injury, but Denver still has enough.

The defense is what struggled last year. The rushing defense was bad, and the pass rush wasn't much better. Coverage also lacked most of the time. Going into this season, the defense probably still won't be great. So it'll be up to the offense to put together some really good drives.

Meanwhile, Geno Smith will get the start for Seattle. Smith is a veteran quarterback that has experience as a starter, but he's never really had success as a starter.

DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are still on this team at receiver. Seattle stole Noah Fant from Denver and will have Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Walker III rushing the football. Seattle's run game should have success between Penny and Walker. Seattle needs both of them healthy, which could ultimately be hard to get.

However, as I acknowledged before, the pass protection wasn't great for Seattle, and Smith won't appreciate that either.

Seattle's secondary could easily get beat on some plays by Denver. But I do believe in the Seahawks' ability to stop the run. I also think Denver could have success pass-rushing.

On a Monday Night game, with Wilson starting a new season in Seattle, on a different team, I like the under.
