We have an ugly bet here but one that makes sense from many different perspectives. Josh Gayle is here with an NFL prop pick between the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers, featuring Darnell Mooney.
ANALYSIS

Chicago Bears vs San Francisco 49ers Odds, Picks, Prediction: Can Darnell Mooney Carry Justin Fields?

We’re getting great odds here compared to other books so we must act fast. Mooney will be a reception hog, especially now that Allen Robinson is out of town. Mooney was 5/5 in games without Robinson and 12/17 on the season. Justin Fields had an entire offseason to improve his accuracy and decision making and reports would suggest that he’s looking a lot more comfortable out there.

Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers Prediction

1u - Darnell Mooney o4.5 receptions (-125 @ MGM) (Bet $125 to win $100) Mooney faced the 49ers last year and hauled in 6 receptions on 9 targets. San Francisco enters this game as touchdown favorites which would mean we could see Mooney hit this late in the game because Chicago will be forced to pass. Mooney is a breakout candidate this year and this number just feels too low for him. Some would think Mooney already broke out because he eclipsed 1000 yards but this could be his real breakout as a legitimate top option.

What I love about Mooney is his route tree features plenty of safe passes. He had a game last year where he caught 5 balls for 27 yards. Early in the year, they might want Justin Fields to gain confidence so it wouldn’t surprise me to see plenty of dinking and dunking for easy completions and more importantly receptions for our boy. There could come w point in this year where we never see him at this number again. Let's get when the gettings good, let's roll!
