Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers Prediction and Pick: Cash In With This Expert's Same Game Parlay

The NFC North is wasting no time in firing things up this season, as their two front-runners to bring home the division will square off in week one. For the Packers, the story this offseason, as it is nearly every offseason now, was Aaron Rodgers returning to Green Bay delaying the start of the recently drafted Jordan Love.

For the Vikings, Kirk Cousins returns with the help of a Vikings offense that has slowly morphed into one of the best in the NFC.

The only question that now remains is which one of these NFC North teams will start 1-0? Let’s take a closer look at how I see this one playing out in Minnesota.

Minnesota Vikings ML (+100)

The quest for a third straight NFL MVP begins Sunday for Aaron Rodgers, as he’ll have to do so without five-time Pro Bowl WR Davante Adams who has since bolted for Las Vegas. He may also have to start it without WR Allen Lazard, who is currently dealing with an ankle injury.

That should put an extra burden on the Packers RB duo in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, who combined for 1,600 yards this season but will now enter this one with new faces on its offensive line.

For the Vikings, Cousins and company found gold last season with the emergence of Justin Jefferson, who finished the year with 108 catches and 1,616 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns. Dalvin Cook has also now added 1,283 yards over the past three seasons, even though he missed games in each.

As for team history, the Packers have lost four of their past six trips to Minnesota, including a 34-31 loss in Week 11 of last season. I like for the Vikings to continue their winning ways in this one.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Randall Cobb (+270)

With Adams gone and Lazard questionable at best, I expect Rodgers' old buddy Randall Cobb to get some extra looks in the season opener. One of the last remaining veterans from Rodgers' previous Super Bowl Runs, I like for Cobb to find pay dirt in this one against a spotty Vikings secondary.

When these two last met, Rodgers had himself a day, throwing for 385 yards and four touchdowns, with the Packers defense being largely to blame for the loss.

1st Touchdown Scorer - Justin Jefferson (+900)

While we touched on the field days Rodgers had the last time these two met, so did Cousins. In the three-point win, Cousins threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns, as the Packers return much of the same secondary that he’s previously diced up.

To start what I expect to be a massive season for the Cousins-Jefferson combo, look for that to get started here right away.
