Texans vs. Colts Same-Game Parlay (+328): Building Around Jonathan Taylor and Brandin Cooks

Texans vs. Colts Same-Game Parlay (+328): Building Around Jonathan Taylor and Brandin Cooks

The Indianapolis Colts think they have their guy in Matt Ryan. They'll put their thinking to the test when they take on the Houston Texans in Houston. Last year, under Carson Wentz, the Colts' passing game struggled. However, to Wentz's credit, the pass protection wasn't very excellent either. Indianapolis had the most success rushing the football with Jonathan Taylor. That'll likely be the theme this year, especially as Ryan gets more comfortable with his receivers. Meanwhile, the Texans are expected to be the worst team in the NFL this year, per oddsmakers. With Davis Mills under center, there's some optimism, but there's also plenty of doubt from others who think he won't be able to deliver. Although it's just Week 1, we're going to put together a three-leg same-game parlay for readers to consider in the Colts and Texans game on Sunday.

Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts Same-Game Parlay Picks

Jonathan Taylor Over 99.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

Jonathan Taylor rushed 332 times last season for 1,811 yards. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry and had at least 143 yards rushing against Houston in two games last year. Houston was terrible against the run last year and struggled to tackle in the open field. Meanwhile, the Colts have the best run-block offensive lines in the game. Take Taylor to gain 100 yards rushing in this one.

Jonathan Taylor Anytime Touchdown (-240)

If Taylor is going to earn over 140 yards rushing, he will probably end up with a touchdown. Last year, Taylor added two rushing touchdowns in each game against the Texans. Essentially, Taylor added one touchdown per game last year. But the reality is, he's going to stat pad against the worst teams in the league. The Texans are expected to be the worst team in the league.

Brandin Cooks Over 58.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Cooks is now the number one guy in Houston. The Texans will be down early and have to throw the ball around to try and stick around. Last year, Cooks added 1,037 yards on 90 catches. He was tied for 15th in catches and was 22nd with 1,037 receiving yards. Cooks had seven games where he was targeted at least 10 times. In his first game against the Colts, he hauled in nine catches on 13 targets for 89 yards. That was in a 31-3 blowout. He only caught three balls in the second game but had six targets. Anyway, he's developed some chemistry with Mills and should be the most targeted player on the Texans. This is a game where the Texans will have to throw the ball more times than not in the second half when down multiple scores.
