Obviously, the NFL is back so we're gambling. That's just how the NFL being back works. The most fun way to do it is by breaking up the day by start time. You have the 1:00 pm ET slot, the 4:00 pm ET slot, and the Sunday Night Football period. All three need to get hit and they need to get hit hard for maximum entertainment value. This is not up for debate. One way to attack each slot is with a couple plus money bangers. All you need to do is hit half and you get paid. How hard is that?
The first one feels obvious but I'm going to call it out anyway. You could take Elijah Moore over 54.5 receiving yards at -110 but why not bump it up to 60+ at +120? I think he's good for it since he should be on the field all the time today. In the last three games he played, he was on the field for at least 80% of the snaps and he went over this number twice. One of the times was when Joe Flacco started and he ripped off 141 yards. Flacco is starting again today against a Baltimore Ravens team that was one of only three teams to give up over 3,000 passing yards last season. This feels right.
Right about the time Moore is torching the Ravens, our other guy for the 1:00s, Cole Kmet, should be doing the same to the San Francisco 49ers. The haters are going to say that only one team in the NFL gave up fewer receiving yards to the tight end position last season and they are right but they are missing something. Forty-plus yards is not a lot. Kmet could get this and the 49ers can still be one of the best at covering the position. We're talking 40 yards here. Kmet got this number nine times last season. I think he's the second option behind Darnell Mooney in the Chicago Bears offense this season. If the Bears have to play from behind today, then Kmet will see work. This isn't a high bar to get over.
