I was expecting this to open at 29.5 or so this is an outstanding value. Lamar threw the ball 30 times in week 1 despite leading the whole game. Even when Baltimore was up by 21 in the fourth quarter we saw Baltimore elect to pass the ball. Sunday's game projects to be even closer against Miami and should feature more passing. Baltimore is currently favored by -3.5 but even in the event the Ravens blow them out we can see this bet hit.
Mac Jones played against Miami in week 1 and threw the ball 30 times as well. Miami looks to have a strong rush defense thus far and I expect some short passes from Lamar to get his playmakers in open space. Lamar was 9/11 on hitting this prop last year if you exclude the last game where he got hurt after four attempts. Lamar wants to prove the doubters wrong that say he can't throw. For our sake, it doesn't matter if he’s accurate or not, we just need attempts and not completions.
Last year Lamar threw the ball 43 times against Miami. He could throw 15 fewer attempts and we’d still cash. Miami's improved offense makes me think that this could happen again and force Baltimore's hand to pass throughout all four quarters. This number is just wrong for the sportsbooks and that’s why we’re laying two units on it.
