CINCINNATI BENGALS VS. DALLAS COWBOYS PREDICTION

The Bengals are fresh off a wild OT thriller where they had multiple chances to win the game via an extra point and a field goal. This was a shocking loss for Cincinnati, a team that is fresh off an AFC championship. The hopes are about as high as could be for Cincinnati following their success from a season ago. It may be unfair expectations for a team that clearly overachieved last year, but that is the reality for Cincy this season.

The Cowboys are coming off a loss where they did not run one play in the red zone against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The loss was the least of their worries; however, the real bad news came when it was announced starting QB, Dak Prescott would be missing several weeks. Since then, Jerry Jones has downplayed the situation a bit and claims that we could see Dak back after six weeks.

Time will tell, but the bottom line here is that Dallas could be in some real trouble. Their offense looked bland when Prescott was in the game, and now they have to turn to back up signal caller Cooper Rush and hope that he can be the guy. Dallas lost two wide receivers from a season ago who were solid contributors and the wide receiver core last week looked brutal. Their offense line is also banged up and is a huge question mark as this season moves along.

Despite all the bad things I just said about the Cowboys, I am betting on them this afternoon. There is no team I hate more than the Cowboys, as you all know, but this is too many points to get at home. Cooper Rush is not Dak Prescott, but he is still an NFL quarterback, and I believe he will be able to keep this thing close enough today.

Dallas looked pretty good to me on defense, especially their red zone defense. If they can hold down the Bengals here, I trust they will stay within this number. I was not impressed with what I saw on either side of the ball from Cincinnati in week 1, and I do not think they should be laying 7.5 on the road. Dallas gets it done for us today.
