At 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, the Houston Texans will take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
Houston tied division rival Indianapolis at home in Week 1 before traveling as a significant underdog (+11) in Week 2 to lose to the Denver Broncos 16-9. Following their Week 1 victory over the 49ers in a rainstorm, the Bears traveled to Green Bay for their Week 2 Sunday night game and suffered a 17-point loss (27-10) in a game they were set up to lose.
Let’s dive into how this one might play out in Houston between two teams that are already expected to finish near the bottom of the NFC.

Chicago Bears vs. Houston Texans Best Player Prop Picks
Damien Pierce - Rushing Yards Over 58.5 (-115) (Bet $115 to win $100)
Chicago allowed RB Aaron Jones 170 total yards (132 running, 38 receiving) and 2 touchdowns, and I see no reason to think that deficiency will change this week. For an offense that has little in the way of elite talent on it, Pierce has the chance to be the unit’s best player, and through two games, he’s racked up 102 yards on the ground.
Now getting a much easier task than last week at Denver, I like for Pierce to find his lanes in this one and take advantage of a porous front seven for Chicago. With a number I had closer to 65, I’m taking the over as I think Pierce can bust a few.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - David Montgomery (+100) (Bet $100 to win $100)
Without scoring a running touchdown, David Montgomery is sixth in the NFL with 148 total rushing yards (74.0 yards per game) up to this point. He has the 24th-best yardage rate per carry in the NFL at 4.6. Additionally, he has six targets and five passes caught for a total of 38 receiving yards, averaging 2.5 catches and 19.0 receiving yards per game. but also with no touchdowns through the air.
Being an RB1 in this league in addition to having the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, it’s just a matter of time before he finds pay dirt. No better team to do it against than the Texans, who feature not just a weak secondary but eliminate the factor of weather.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Brandin Cooks (+150) (Bet $100 to win $150)
Speaking of being well overdue for a TD, Brandin Cooks has 136 receiving yards from 11 receptions this season but no touchdowns. Through two games, he has been targeted a total of 22 times and is averaging 5.5 receptions per catch, but has yet to find pay dirt from them.
Like Montgomery, regression is coming for Cooks and I like for the wide receiver to pick up his first TD of the season in this spot.
