Week 5 NFL Sunday Parlay: Building Around the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles

It's week 5 of the 2022 NFL season. John Hyslop is here with an NFL Sunday parlay. He's looking at the Cowboys and Eagles.

Week 5 NFL Sunday Parlay: Building Around the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles

I've decided to fire away on the NFL board for Sunday. It wasn't the easiest decision to make, but it's one that I am confident in. I'm making the right move here (probably). As with any time you want to light up a board, parlays are going to have to happen. It's called bang for your buck. Look it up. It's legit. The only difference between my parlays and the old-school ones we used to do, is I like to move the numbers. Fat Tony would have never allowed this back in the day but DraftKings does so screw Fat Tony (with all due respect). We don't even need Fat Tony anymore. Lucky for us, I've gone through every single game on the NFL slate. Twice. Even better, I found two in the 4:00 pm ET slate that is perfect for a little baby parlay. Feels good.

Week 5 NFL Sunday Parlay Pick

Parlay - Dallas Cowboys +8.5 & Philadelphia Eagles -2 (+139) (Bet $100 to win $139)

*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing*

We're at DraftKings here because they have the best price for this thing. I'm pretty sure all the big boys let you move lines these days so go into your book and play around. You could find a comparable price. It should be noted that the best we can do at FanDuel is Dallas +8.5 and Philadelphia -2.5 for +127. That's playable but obviously not as good as what we have over at DraftKings.

Week 5 NFL Sunday Parlay Prediction

I know the Cowboys season was supposed to be over when Dak Prescott got hurt but apparently, it's not. Who knew? All they've done is won three straight games since and one of them was against an actual NFL-level team (Bengals). Sure we can talk about how easy their schedule is but it's not their fault. They didn't make it. All they can do is play who's in front of them.

As much as I want to say this is a play on Dallas, it's really all about the Rams. I don't think they can cover a number higher than this big. They have yet to do it this season and they've played the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals. We saw what a legit defense does to Matthew Stafford last week and now he gets to see another one Sunday in the Cowboys. So far this season, only three teams are better in the opponents' yards per play metric (49ers, Bills, Eagles). Even if the Rams win this game, I doubt they roll Dallas.

The second leg is the easiest one on the board. At least according to the people on Twitter. The Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl if you ask them. I'm not convinced yet but I am convinced of one thing. The Cardinals are not good and the Eagles are. The only wins on Arizona's log came against the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders. Those teams have two combined wins between them. Not great.

The real story here is the Eagles though. Their offense is fifth best averaging 6.1 yards per play while Arizona's defense is giving up a 27th-worst 6.1 yards per play. I know I use that stat all the time but it's the most important one in my book. It just tells us so much. At the end of the day, we don't need it though. We just need two eyes and a functioning brain for this one. I bet the Eagles smoke Arizona on Sunday.
