ANALYSIS

Miami Dolphins vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can We Trust Kenny Pickett on SNF?

It's said that when people have a near-death experience, they come back seeing the world in a whole new light. I can say that is 100% true. Maybe more. I've been shackled to a bed for the past 48 hours but I've now beaten whatever it was that was trying to invade me. Many were saying the bug I had was a 72-hour thing too which makes it even more impressive. But this isn't about me. Not at all. This is about a bet for Sunday Night Football that has no chance of losing. We deserve one of those and dammit, I think I've found one. Remember, I'm seeing the board with a whole new perspective after beating the 72-hour bug in just 48 hours. You can't discount that no matter how hard you try. It just doesn't work.

We're at FanDuel here because they give us ladder moves. Here's the thing though. If you have to play at DraftKings or BetMGM, it could prove to be a good idea. They both have 223.5 (-115) which is lower than 230.5 (-110) FanDuel is offering (numbers). I think it's because FanDuel knows they will have to pay us more for the 250+ if they offered 223.5. Just a thought.

People are going to be mad at Pickett for leaving the game last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It wasn't his fault though. The kid had a concussion. You always sit down when you have a concussion. It's the safe way. But now Pickett has cleared the concussion protocol which is good news for him (obviously) as well as NFL fans. We all get to watch the kid on Sunday Night Football which feels right.

Here's the thing about Pickett. We legit have no idea what they expect out of him. We've only seen him start and complete one game in his NFL career. That game was against Buffalo when he hung 327 yards on the Bills. That's not bad. Obviously, 325+ passing yards in a game is asking a lot out of a rookie but it's nice to know that Pickett has it in him to do it. That game was very much because of circumstances (the Steelers got their asses kicked 38-3 and had to throw the entire second half) but life is all just circumstance.

Tonight we could see circumstance show its face again as the Miami Dolphins get Tua Tagovailoa back. It looks like he'll have both Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill available which could mean points for Miami. If that happens, Pickett should have his way with a Miami defense that has given up more passing yards to quarterbacks than all but seven NFL teams. I'm just saying that 250+ passing yards in a situation like this shouldn't be +130. This just feels right.
