Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers Prediction

After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football, the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons could hold sole possession of the first place in the NFC South with a win on Sunday.

Yes, the 2-5 Carolina Panthers, who fired their head coach and traded away Christian McCaffrey, can lead the NFC South over Tom Brady's Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints, and Atlanta Falcons with a win.

Meanwhile, the Falcons, who traded away Matt Ryan during the off-season and lost Calvin Ridley to a year suspension, could also be in first place with a win.

Although Carolina could have other healthy quarterbacks, P.J. Walker will continue to be the quarterback for Carolina. After a win over Tampa Bay, 21-3, the Panthers acknowledged that Walker deserved another start this week.

The Panthers gave D'Onta Foreman 15 carries last week against the Bucs. He averaged 7.9 yards per carry and had a long run of 60 yards against one of the best run defenses in football.

News flash. The Falcons aren't nearly as good as the Bucs against the run on defense. Look for Foreman to get at least 15 carries in this game. If he can get that many carries, he'll rush for 69 or more yards.

Allgeier will have more success rushing the football when the Falcons decide to do something other than rushing the football.

It's not such a crazy concept. If the Falcons decide to get Pitts and London involved, Allgeier will have more holes to work within the running game. He's earned at least ten carries in every game but one this season.

But he's only rushed for just over three yards per carry over the last two games. That changes when the Falcons decide to throw a little more.
