Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction

The Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers will duel things out for an NFC South affair to kick off Week 10 of the NFL. These two teams just played two weeks ago in Atlanta. That game two weeks ago decided first place in the South. It was a wild game that went back and forth, but at the end of the game, it appeared the Panthers pulled off a miracle. PJ Walker made one of the best throws of the season to DJ Moore to tie the game. Moore would get flagged after his touchdown for taking his helmet off, and as fate would have it, the Panthers missed an extra point to win the game.

The game would go to overtime, and once again, the game was on the foot of Eddy Pineiro. Pineiro missed another field goal he should have made, and the Falcons took advantage and won on a game-winning field goal. It was a soul-crushing loss for Carolina, likely ending their season.

It has been a disaster of a year for Carolina as they have fired their head coach and benched their starting QB. Baker Mayfield won the job coming into the year, but things have not gone his way. He was benched for PJ Walker, and Walker will remain the starter tonight despite throwing for just nine yards last week against the Bengals.

Atlanta has exceeded expectations this year. The Falcons are 4-5 entering play and tied with the Bucs for first place in the division. This is a pivotal game for them tonight.

I am all over the Panthers tonight. That is not a sentence I have said yet this year, but I think this is a good spot for the Panthers based on the line. Despite Atlanta being the better team and playing for more tonight, we see the line is sitting at just 2.5. The Panthers just got embarrassed last week against the Bengals, and I expect them to play with some pride tonight.

The Falcons are the worst team in the NFL against the pass, and I think that Carolina will have their way in the passing game tonight. If the Panthers can jump out to a lead tonight, I don't believe the Falcons are built to play from behind. This team loves to play in a positive game script; if they fall behind, this will be a long night. Lastly, the public is all over the Falcons, and who does not love to fade the public in prime time?
